SATELLITE DERIVED POSITIONS
Positions obtained from satellite navigation systems referred to WGS 84 Datum can be plotted directly onto this chart. Caution must be exercised in the transfer of geographical positions to other charts not in terms of WGS 84 Datum.

AIDS TO NAVIGATION
The aids to navigation shown on this chart are not to be relied upon. And in the inner waters and channels, certain lights, buoys and beacons are not shown on this chart. For these, larger scale charts must be consulted.

SATELLITE DERIVED BATHYMETRY
Refer to M_QUAL objects for details of depths derived mainly from satellite imagery. Uncharted dangers may exist. For further information see Admiralty publication 'The Mariners Handbook'.

DEPTHS
Depths converted from fathoms. Positions and depths may not be accurate. Uncharted hazards may exist Refer to M_QUAL objects for details of these areas.

FORMER MINED AREAS
For details of areas in which mines could present a hazard for vessels anchoring, fishing or engaged in submarine or seabed activity see the Admiralty Sailing Directions.

FISH AGGREGATING DEVICES
Mariners should exercise caution when navigating in these waters as FADs have been moored in outlying deepwater locations. The FADs are unlit: concentrations of fishing vessels may be found in their vicinity.

CORAL HEADS
Due to the complexity of the coral bathymetry, depths shoaler than those charted may exist away from the main channels.

CURRENTS
The South Sub-Tropical Current predominates over the whole area of this chart, with generally west to south-westerly sets of up to a knot in rate. Sets are however variable.
In the shallower water and near the island coasts currents will be greatly influenced by the wind, and will tend to follow the trend of the coasts. For further information, see Admiralty Sailing Directions.
